meaningful meal deal

Nathalie, of Thao Thao

We love our supporters! Each has a personal and often deep-rooted reason for offering their time, advice and expertise to KRAN and its young people, and we deeply appreciate them all.

There’s variety too and we were delighted when Nathalie Nguyen, owner of Thao Thao Vietnamese restaurant in Margate, offered our mentors and their mentees a special lunchtime deal.

Here, she explains why collaborating with us is so meaningful:

"I am Thanh Thao Nathalie Nguyen, a French native of Vietnamese heritage. My parents came to France as refugees after fleeing Vietnam at the end of the war. With the support of the community and various organisations, they were able to feel safe and welcomed in their new country and successfully build the better life they sought.

“Thao Thao is a tribute to my heritage and my parents' journey. It also serves as a way to share the flavours of my childhood which are connected to the joyful and treasured moments spent with my loved ones.

“I am today truly honoured to offer a safe space where young refugees and KRAN mentors can come together over a comforting meal. From my parents' story, I understand how crucial and life-changing these moments can be."

Thank you, Nathalie - and mentors/mentees aside, we highly recommend Thao Thao!

We have vacancies in Canterbury and Dover for mentors. For all the details and how to apply, please go here.
