2025: A year in perfect podcasts!
By Rishan, KRAN podcast host/Media Ambassador
Looking back at 2025, these episodes of Stories Without Limits are some of my favourites (in no particular order). Like all our podcasts, they offer a unique and deeply human perspective on displacement, belonging and resilience, whether this be through lived experience, community action, ethical debate, or creative storytelling. Each challenges misconceptions, inspires empathy and highlights the many ways people and organisations are working to support refugees and asylum seekers. Thank you to all our guests - we have loved every word!
Showing courage and compassion (Episode 5)
This episode with KRAN Patron Lord Alf Dubs is one of my favourites. His deeply personal Kindertransport story, clear challenge to harmful myths about refugees and powerful reflections on today’s political climate are both moving and inspiring.
We have beeen there before (episode 17)
I find the discussion between KRAN CEO Razia and Baroness Julia Neuberger especially compelling for its thoughtful exploration of the moral complexities around age assessments and family reunification for young refugees and asylum seekers.
KRAN AND MINNO, A RECIPE FOR SUCCESS (EPISODE 6)
I love the conversation with Minno Kitchen founder Katy Bull! Her passion, her belief in food as a way to build dignity and community and the fact that she made KRAN her charity of the year - this episode feels hopeful and practical.
just think for a moment (EPISODE 14)
The episode with Infi and Naveed stands out for its honesty as these two young men share their ambitions, community involvement, and the realities faced by refugees in hotels. It is a powerful reminder of resilience, contribution, and humanity.
DRIVING THE STORY (EPISODE 16)
Finally, the conversation with film director, PhD candidate and researcher Neil George resonates deeply because his reflections on shared human struggles, creativity and research feel grounded, compassionate and profoundly relatable. The talk is of how we challenge hostility, misinformation and anti-refugee narratives in the UK; also how respectful, authentic stories can balance hardship with hope, dignity and contribution, while highlighting the vital role of organisations like KRAN in helping people understand the truth beyond headlines and fear.
