Reflecting on my journey to British citizenship, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride. Arriving in the UK as a young refugee (aged just 17), I faced the uncertainty of a new life. Yet, the support and welcoming environment I encountered made all the difference. Those who believed in me and saw my potential played a crucial role in my path to success (you know who you are!).

Today, as a student nurse, I am preparing to serve the NHS. This accomplishment is not just a personal milestone: it's a testament to the opportunities and kindness extended to me. I am eager to give back to the country that embraced me, contributing to the community and the healthcare system.

To the public, I want to deliver a message: refugees do contribute to society. We bring with us resilience, determination and a strong desire to give back. We are here to achieve much for ourselves and to make meaningful contributions to others as well.
