Welcome to the KRAN family
We work with separated young refugees and asylum seekers, also known as UASC (Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children). These are young people aged 16 to 24 who have arrived in Kent alone and are claiming asylum. We provide them with a safe, positive space and support them to succeed.
How we help
We offer a range of activities for young people
Our aim is to support young people to look after themselves well and to work with local education providers to ensure them a place in statutory education as soon as possible. We also run a mentoring project which links young people with volunteers in the community, along with an advocacy project to help them resolve any problems they might run into.
our services
-
Learning for Life
This education programme for young asylum seekers is the only one of its kind in the UK. We have a proven track record of providing our young people with the skills they need to gain entry to college.
-
Advocacy and support
Helping young refugees in their transition to life in the UK. Our young people can often be isolated, have mental health issues, or perhaps just need a helping hand and someone to talk with.

GOT AN IDEA?
At KRAN we are always open to new ideas and suggestions as to how people can get involved and support our work. Please don’t hesitate to contact our CEO Razia (razia@kran.org.uk) and let her know of ways you can help - either individually or through your organisation. For example, you may be able to offer a placement opportunity or apprenticeship to one of our young people, or in-kind support in an area you have skills and expertise in (perhaps as a one-off masterclass).
